I’m Rob Mitchell, and I’ve been the Assessor of Property for Rutherford County for the past several years. During my time in office, I’ve been steadfast in my commitment to fair and accurate property assessments. I believe that all property owners should pay their fair share of taxes, and I’m committed to ensuring that property assessments are based on the fair market value of each property.
I’m also committed to providing information and assistance to property owners. The assessor’s office offers a variety of resources to help property owners understand their property taxes, including a website with information about property taxes. We even pioneered Smart Rutherford which is the first voice activated community information tool in the nation! Transparency is important and I am committed to transparent government.
My commitment to fair and accurate property assessments has not gone unnoticed. In recognition of my contributions to the profession internationally, I was honored with the prestigious John C. Donehoo Award from the International Association of Assessing Officers. Additionally, the office has consistently received multiple Three Star Awards as well as the Excellence in Operations Award highlighting our exceptional service and commitment to excellence.
