Murfreesboro, TN As the Rutherford County Property Assessor since 2012, I want to address the future of our community. I believe that we can achieve sustainable prosperity by embracing development rather than unbridled growth. This is one of the primary reasons I’m seeking re-election as your Property Assessor. I want to represent common-sense development vs growth for the sake of growth. Why? To improve the quality of life for every citizen in our great county.
Growth and development are not the same. Growth is simply an increase in size. Development, on the other hand, is an improvement in quality. A growing community may become larger, but it may not become better. A developing community, on the other hand, can become both larger and better.
There are many benefits to development. It can create jobs, foster affordable housing, enhance cultural and educational opportunities, and improve public safety and health. It can also help preserve our environment, natural resources, and quality of life.
Of course, development does not come without costs. It requires investment in infrastructure, education, and other essential services. But I believe that the benefits of development far outweigh the costs. We cannot believe the false narrative that every penny we spend is moving us toward our desired goal.
I am a fiscal conservative and believe we can achieve sustainable prosperity without spending ourselves into oblivion. We can do this by focusing on development rather than growth. We must also know the difference between them.
Development is a conservative approach to prosperity. It is a way to improve our community without breaking the bank. It is a way to build a better future for ourselves and our children.
I urge you to join me in supporting development. Together, we can build a brighter future for Rutherford County.
